On Record Store Day we are hosting a conversation between renowned music photographer Gered Mankowitz and Noddy Holder, frontman of Slade.

Join us this Record Store Day – Saturday, April 12 – at the Iconic Images Gallery, Piccadilly, where we will be hosting a conversation between renowned music photographer Gered Mankowitz and Noddy Holder, frontman of British rock legends Slade.

Gered Mankowitz first met Slade in 1969. He would go on to work with the band an astonishing 35 times during the 1970s, a decade in which they released six UK number-one singles.

Meeting at Iconic Images Gallery, Piccadilly, the home of the Gered Mankowitz archive, the photographer and musician will discuss that heady decade of collaboration, how together with the other members of the band they created the artwork for almost all of Slade's albums, the unique relationship between music and photography, and more.

"They were hugely talented and made an endless stream of brilliant, raucous pop hits throughout the '70s," says Mankowitz of the band. "I considered them to be good mates."

The price of your ticket will be deductible from any purchase made in the gallery on the night, including books signed by Gered Mankowitz.
