QSIR: Practitioner

Overview

QSIR: Practitioner is an accredited national NHS program that provides participants with the skills and confidence to do grassroots change.

QSIR: Practitioner is a nationally accredited program that provides participants with the skills and confidence to undertake grassroots change. It uses a comprehensive, modular curriculum that builds understanding of how to 'do' change, and includes sessions on:

  • Leadership: leading improvement projects
  • Project management: running improvement projects
  • How to sustain and scale improvement projects
  • Understanding stakeholders: engaging and working with others
  • Understanding and mappinng processes
  • Using creativity for improvement
  • Measurement for Improvement
  • Flow: demand and capacity

Sessions are fun, interactive and practical, with lots of top tips and real life examples. During the program participants are encouraged to apply what they are learning to their own improvement projects, and are supported between workshops to help them make their projects a success.

This is delivered in person as a program, with each workshop building on previous sessions, so registering for this involves attending on five dates over three months, with three of the workshops being held at the Invention Rooms and two at the Irish Cultural Centre, 5 Black's Rd, London W6 9DT:

  • Friday 11th Sept 2026 (09:00-16:00: The CLCH Academy)
  • Friday 18th Sept 2026 (09:00-16:00: The CLCH Academy)
  • Friday 2nd Oct 2026 (09:00-16:00: The CLCH Academy)
  • Friday 16th Oct 2026 (09:00-16:00: The CLCH Academy)
  • Friday 30th Oct 2026 (09:00-16:00: The CLCH Academy)

It is suited to clinical and non-clinical staff, and although created by the NHS, it is open to anyone with an interest in change, including members of the public and voluntary sector. We run this in parallel to our health equity 'Deep End' scheme, so there is a strong focus on creating healthier places and fairer systems.

There are no fees, but places are limited and the course is usually oversubscribed.
