<p><strong>“Making Collage-art with Women affected by Gender Based Violence: The affects of emotional research and understanding the challenges and possibilities for supporting researcher-health.” </strong></p><p>Catherine Cartwright, PhD Researcher, Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy </p><p>www.catherinecartwright.co.uk</p><p>As a community artist, my PhD research explores the practice of community artists who work with individuals and/or communities affected by trauma. Different to art therapists who are trained in the psychotherapeutic discipline, community art aims to be an empowering and inclusive practice driven by the art making, rather than a psychotherapeutic lens. In this QRF session I focus on the effects of working with people affected by trauma and reflect on the ways we can support ourselves when the work is emotionally challenging. </p><p> <strong>The tenth meeting will be on Thursday, 15th June from 13:00 – 14:00 hours by Zoom.</strong></p><p></p>
