Welcome to Part II of our summer series!

We are delighted to welcome you to the second part of our summer series. The event will be held on Thursday 16th of August. The theme of this seminar is exclusively on technology and finance by looking through two very intertwined evolutionary developments of our century. As many of you already know, we take networking as seriously as learning about new topics so please get to know each other over drinks and nibbles kindly provided by our event host.

The seminar will start with a presentation by Catherine Gu who is the founder of Quantess. Catherine is an economist cum data scientist. She has been working with a fintech blockchain firm this summer, she will be sharing some of her insights as well as invite the audience to together brainstorm about the future of blockchain. The session, "Blockchain: concept and vision", promises to be valuable to those with a causal interest in blockchain technology as well as those who are more proficient and work in the field.

This will be followed by a session by Sohee Park, Managing Director and Analytics & Data Science Strategist and Portfolio Manager for J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB). In this role, she works closely with the Head of Analytics and Data Science to develop the CIB’s Data Science strategy and is responsible for managing the data analytics project portfolio across businesses. She also works closely with the firm’s Finance & Business Management team and the Chief Data Office to resource initiatives to build data analytics capabilities in a well-controlled environment and with the CIB Fin Tech In-Residence team to develop and grow external partnerships. She will discuss "The Role of Data Analytics in Transforming Investment Banks”.
