This will be a networking event focused on promoting engagement between scientists with different expertise and career stages. As this is a newly funded area of research, the current Quantum Technology for Fundamental Physics (QTFP) projects will update the scientific community on their progress. There will also be opportunities to discuss future ideas and collaborations.

Who Can Attend: This opportunity is open to all but priority will be given to the following communities:

STFC core sciences (particle physics, particle astrophysics, astronomy, nuclear physics, accelerator science, computing)
EPSRC quantum sciences
EPSRC quantum technology
National Quantum Technology Programme partners
All career stages including early careers
Technicians (one session is dedicated to technicians)

STFC core programme research conducted at the STFC facilities, CERN, European Southern Observatory or European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, are also welcome.

How do I register: This event is free to attend and open to all who are eligible. You will need to register in advance.

All registrations will be assessed by an STFC internal panel equally regardless of the date of registration. In the event of oversubscription an appropriate number of participants will be selected to attend. Selection criteria based on career stage, geographical location, equality, diversity and inclusion will be applied to ensure attendance from a balanced and diverse community. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by 13th January 2023

Costs: If you plan to attend as a two-day event, we are offering accommodation for one night on 2nd February. On day 1 - tea/coffee, lunch and dinner will be provided. On day 2 – breakfast, lunch and tea/coffee will be provided.

Schedule: The event is planned to start at around 10.30 on day 1 and expected to close at 16.00 on day 2. Please get in touch with qtfp@stfc.ukri.org if you require additional support to attend this event. This can include but is not limited to accessibility issues, travel bursaries, childcare support etc. Please note that as STFC is providing accommodation and subsistence, we are only able to offer travel bursaries for exceptional reasons.
