Expand your sewing skills as you learn to create a beautiful quilted lined fabric pouch with ruffle edge and button fastening.

In this session you will be guided step by step through the process of cutting out, machine quilting and constructing a fold over pouch. You will also learn how to gather and create a ruffle trim, insert a lining and finish off with top stitching and a button fastening .

Participants will have full use of our Janome sewing machines and an extensive range of fabrics and haberdashery. The end result will be a 21cm x 25cm x 6cm quilted and lined fabric pouch with ruffle detail and a button closure.

What You Will Learn

During the workshop you will cover:

• Layering fabric and wadding in preparation for quilting
• Quilting your fabric
• Cutting out your pattern from fabric
• Setting up a sewing machine to sew a gathering stitch and top stitch
• How to gather fabric to create a ruffle edge
• How to line a fabric pouch
