Why theatre? Why research? Why now?

QMUL's Quorum seminar series returns for 2025–26 with this special lunchtime event: a public showcase of current research from PhD students in the Drama department.

What are the questions animating new theatre scholars? How might the idea of 'theatre' offer unique approaches to the most urgent issues of our time? And what is the role of the university in all of this?

Four short presentations will give an insight into the varied field of PhD research at QMUL, followed by an open discussion chaired by Dr Maggie Inchley, Director of Graduate Studies at the Drama Department.

This is a hybrid event, online attendees will receive a link to join on Teams. A light lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. All are welcome!
