Event description

Description

Qwerk.

A weekend of new queer plays.

Qwerk is a free mini festival of readings celebrating the voices of queer playwrights from all over the world. Curated by new collective Fieldwork Performance (Susannah Armitage, Lewis Hetherington and Matt Addicott), each evening will feature a guest director and include readings from several plays.

The themes for the three evenings are as follows:

Age + Intimacy

(readings directed by Maggie Kinloch)

Fri 27 September, 7pm

A vibrant and tender selection of scenes from Singapore, New Zealand, Serbia and America - each with a unique perspective on how love and life changes as time passes.

Queering the Family

(readings directed by Lewis Hetherington)

Sat 28 September, 7pm

Writers from across four continents look at families - how they are created, sustained and sometimes fractured.

Rainbow State

(readings directed by Nazli Tabatabai-Khatambakhsh)

Sun 29 September, 5pm
