Welcome to the R Workshop for (Developmental) Psychologists!Keep getting stuck in analysis? Wanting to jump to using R but not quite feeling comfortable? Wondering why every package gives you a different answer?Join us at Durham University, Durham, UK for a hybrid in-person / virtual workshop where you'll learn how to harness the power of R for your research in (developmental) psychology. This event is sponsored by the Durham Research Methods Centre and the Software Sustainability Institute.Many of the worked examples will be more applicable to developmental psychologists, but we will also be focusing on basics of statistics and R, so don't be put off.Day 1 is only for beginners or novices wishing to get the basics they need to start feeling comfortable with coding. Included: (12:30 - 4:30)<ul><li>Setting up workspaces and projects</li><li>Introduction to R</li><li>Reading and editing data frames</li><li>Basic visualisation</li><li>Intro to stats in R</li></ul>Day 2 we will explore more advanced skills like quality data visualisation, generalised mixed effects modelling, and some case studies from eye-tracking and pupillometry data. Included (10:00 - 4:30):<ul><li>Mixed effects modelling</li><li>Advanced data visualisation</li><li>Case study one - infant eye-tracking data</li><li>Case study two - pupillometry analysis</li><li>Where to from here?</li></ul>We will also create a slack channel for R discussion for attendees, so you have a community to ask questions and continue your journey together.
