Race and Intersectionality: Using the Arts to Build Connections and Challenge Bias

Race and Intersectionality Awareness into Practice: a Creative Enquiry.About the training:An online training delivered by two integrative arts psychotherapists brings compassion and curiosity to this challenging subject. Starting from the perspective of exploring our own cultural identities and intersections, we will look at these vital themes in a way that supports shared understanding, difference and a non-judgmental approach. Throughout this interactive session, participants will be encouraged to reflect on what an inclusive approach means to them and what obstacles prevent implementation in their working environment, including theoretical perspectives, strategies, and creative activities. The course aims to help delegates understand the subject, equipping them with skills to take away and use within the organisations and young people they work with. A little about us:Miranda and Anya, both Integrative Arts Psychotherapists, qualified after a four-year training journey with IATE (Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education, Islington). We have clinical experience in supporting young people and adults experiencing mental health challenges, including challenging and complex cases within NHS settings. We work with a range of theoretical modalities using all forms of creativity, with an emphasis on embodied visual arts practices. We both work in private practice as Art Psychotherapists as well as offering groups and creative training programmes together.
