Following the success of the <a href="https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fenergysavingtrust.org.uk%2Frace-to-zero-europe-countdown-to-cop26%2F&data=04%7C01%7CEllie.Leopold%40beis.gov.uk%7C11de745eedd54850e02a08d9d69821cc%7Ccbac700502c143ebb497e6492d1b2dd8%7C0%7C0%7C637776771297543602%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=26hxL0nzBY61Y%2BkP%2BctJ3Zs%2FzWbkGn4oLep6h5E28zg%3D&reserved=0" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Race to Zero, Europe – Countdown to COP26</a> event that took place in October 2021, businesses now have the opportunity to join a unique workshop, exploring how businesses can meet the ambition of net zero through the lens of the Climate Champions’ <a href="https://racetozero.unfccc.int/system/2030breakthroughs/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">2030 Breakthroughs</a> and the <a href="https://racetozero.unfccc.int/systemhttps:/racetozero.unfccc.int/system/glasgow-breakthroughs/glasgow-breakthroughs/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Glasgow Breakthroughs</a>, launched at COP26. The workshop will bring together both SMEs and larger businesses, with expert policy advisors, researchers and NGO officials, to discuss opportunities to achieve breakthroughs in the innovation and deployment of clean technology across sectors within Europe, as well as remaining barriers. We welcome businesses from a variety of sectors and at different stages in their journey to net zero, to take a deeper dive into the opportunities and barriers to reaching the 2030 Breakthroughs from a range of views and experiences.The workshop will be interactive, informative, and collaborative. The event will start with an insight into the outcomes of COP26 and priorities for the UK Presidency year, followed by an introduction to the Breakthrough Agenda and how both countries and businesses can come together to accelerate the clean technology transition through the Glasgow Breakthroughs and 2030 Breakthroughs respectively. The majority of the event will allow time for attendees to share ideas and intelligence with other businesses in their sector. Breakout discussion sessions will be facilitated to further explore the barriers faced by businesses and identify opportunities within particular sectors, sharing best practice where this is already being done. The Glasgow Breakthroughs are the first set of global leader-led common targets under The Breakthrough Agenda.
