About this event

Interested in learning how to manage your breathing, improve focus, swim further underwater, both with and without fins? The RAID Static & Dynamic Apnea Speciality Certification Course is for you!

Static Apnea is the freediving discipline where you hold your breath on the surface of the water without movement. In this pool-based freediving course, you’ll master performing static breath holds safely and confidently. You’ll learn new techniques for relaxation, mental focus, and improving your performance, as well as how to train both in and out of the water. Additionally, you’ll practise buddying safely, including coaching and rescuing in the rare case of a hypoxic event.
This course allows you to enhance your technique, boost your performance, and embrace the mental challenge of static apnea, all while earning a certification.

Dynamic Apnea is a freediving discipline where you swim lengths underwater in a pool, either with or without fins. This comprehensive course is designed for both new and experienced freedivers, covering finning techniques, buoyancy control, streamlining, buddying, and rescue skills. You’ll also learn how to develop a personalised training plan and have the chance to try Dynamic Apnea with a monofin (available in limited sizes), all while earning certification upon successful completion.

Why should I do both courses together?

Each of these speciality courses can be taken individually, however, we believe that as these courses complement each other and provide a complete set of pool-based freediving training skills, taking the both courses across a single day is an incredibly effective way to maximise your learning and develop your own pool-based training programme once the course ends. The skills you learn on both courses also combine to significantly improve your overall freediving experience (and safety) in the open water too.

Will I receive a certification for these pool-based freediving courses?

Yes! Infact, you’ll receive TWO certifications!

To qualify for certification, the only requirement is performing all Apnea skills correctly and safely.

Tip: Some employers provide grants or expenses for personal learning, development and growth, especially if the course is a certified, recognised course (which this is). We have had many students undertake our courses under their employer’s personal learning/development schemes at no cost to themselves.

If you choose to do both Static AND Dynamic Speciality courses on the same day, you’ll also save £50!

*Note: These courses are held in a privately hired pool. The only other people in the pool will be freediving students
