Leigh Hackspace is an inclusive, shared, membership workspace for makers, artists, creators, 'hackers', crafters, designers, fixers, geeks and nerds from Leigh and the entire surrounding area.Hackspaces have nothing to do with computer hacking (although it's a great place to come and learn how to program or otherwise master your computer).Leigh Hackspace aims to provide workspace, inspiration, equipment, ideas, support, training and even materials for 'hacking' with, as well as great coffee, a community spirit and a 'can-do' atmosphere.We're completely non-profit and are funded by membership subscriptions, grants and commissioned work.We are located at Unit F1, The Cotton Mill, Mather Lane, Leigh, Lancashire, WN7 2PW.

Leigh Hackspace is running its first ever Raspberry Jam!
Raspberry Jams are a great way to find out more about the Raspberry Pi single-board computer. The event is suitable for complete novices, and we will have workshops on:

<LI>SETUP_me: setting up your Raspberry Pi for the first time</LI>
<LI>LINUX_n00bs: getting started with the Raspberry Pi's Linux based operating system</LI>
<LI>GPIO_101: getting started with the General Purpose Input/Output features of the Raspberry Pi, and simple programs</LI>
</UL>
As well as worshops for newbies, for more advanced users we're also going to have discussion and demonstrations from Raspberry Pi experts, showing what you can do with these cheap and awesome computers.
All ages are welcome, we have FREE PIZZA, and we have a small coffee shop at Hackspace selling drinks and snacks.
Tickets are £3 which includes some free pizza.
If you already have a Raspberry Pi, then please bring it along, with any equipment you would need to set it up. 
<H3>Buy a Pi</H3>
You can pre-order your Raspberry Pi kit by choosing a Raspberry Pi Kit Ticket. This includes a brand new Raspberry Pi 3 computer, a case, power supply, and SD card as well as entrance to the Raspberry Jam and free pizza.
<H3>Accessories</H3>
We will also have Raspberry Pi kits and accessories available for sale on the day, including the latest Raspberry Pi 3 computer, cases, monitors, adapters, SD cards, keyboards, mice and other things too. Proceeds go to help maintain and improve Leigh Hackspace, which is a non-profit community organisation, dedicated to making Leigh the centre of the North West Tech Universe!
