Raspberry Pi Physical Computing Workshop: An LED Game

The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) is home to the world's largest collection of working historic computers.Follow the development of computing: from the Turing-Welchman Bombe and Colossus of the 1940s through the large systems and mainframes of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, to the rise of personal computing and the rise of mobile computing and the internet.Recognised as one of England’s top 100 ‘irreplaceable places’, we welcome corporate and group visits, schools and individuals from all over the world.We are normally open Tuesday to Friday 10:30 -17:00, Saturday & Sunday 10:30 – 17:00. PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is part of our special Raspberry Pi Exhibition Launch event and is free to attend for Raspberry Pi Exhibition Launch ticket holders. About This Workshop: In this fun and exciting beginners project, you will connect wires and lights to your Raspberry Pi to create a simple electrical circuit. Your circuit will then be linked to a computer to create a game, allowing you to interact with the real world through electronic components! Your circuit will be programmed and controlled by you, using programs written in Scratch. What You Will Learn: <ul><li>How to connect a simple circuit to a Raspberry Pi </li><li>How to use an LED with a Raspberry Pi and Scratch. </li></ul>Don&#x27;t worry if you&#x27;ve never coded before, the straightforward instructions and colourful block-based coding language in this Workshop will have you lighting up LEDs and pressing buttons in no time!Terms and Conditions <ul><li>This workshop is designed for children in KS2 (aged 7+). </li><li>Children MUST be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.</li><li>Each adult attending the workshop to supervise a child MUST purchase an &#x27;Accompanying Adult Ticket.&#x27; </li><li>Your workshop ticket includes full admission to the Museum, allowing you to explore and be inspired by our extraordinary collection whilst you are here. </li></ul>To answer any questions or for further information, please contact Emily Wager, our Events and Communications Officer, at emily.wager@tnmoc.org.
