Description
Arab Women Artists Now - AWAN festival in partnership with The Book Club is pleased to present Re-Sisters.
What is it like to be an Arab woman writing today? Why is what we do important? How do we use words as transgressive weapons? And what does it mean to resist through poetry?
These are some of the questions that Farah Aridi, Yomn al Kaisi, Tasneim Zyada, and Yasmine Bendjoudi will be addressing.
The event will feature live performances from the four poets who will speak of war, personal and collective, of being a woman (poet), of poetry and art, of spaces and the city, of sexuality and the Arab female body, and of being in/out-of-place.
The performance and the panel will be followed by a Q&A session....www.awan.org.uk
