40 Wards 10 Districts 10 Composers 40 Community Groups10 Local Performances 1 Spectacular Performance 2 yearsfor-Wardsis celebrating the diverse city of Birmingham by commissioning 10 pieces of new music about the 10 constituencies. We will be creating a cultural sound map of the UK’s incredibly diverse second city.10 leading composers with a strong Brummie connection, including alternativepop legends Pram,Jazz composerPercy Pursglove, ComposerBobbie-Jane Gardner, andJKFlesh’sJustin Broadrick, will create new music with communities in one of the city’s 10 districts inspired by Birmingham City, the people and the sounds found within it!The 10 new works will be performed back in the 10 districts in which the sounds and communities are found. At the end of the programme there will be a spectacular concert where all 10 pieces are shared!!for-Wardsis created by proud Brummie Bobbie-Jane Gardner.

Birmingham Contemporary Music Group presents Re-Sounding Yardley By Annie Mahtani with Kimichi School, Sheldon Tai Chi Group, South Yardley Library Craft Group and Stechford Scout Group.
 Immerse yourself in the rich soundscapes of Yardley District through live performance utilising electroacoustic sound, field recordings, voice and performers from Birmingham Contemporary Music Group. Follow a sound trail (using APP) to uncover more sounds of Yardley and round it off with a vintage tea in the Old Yardley School Trust House. 
Annie, our composer has created a short sound trail outside the church from field recordings outside which you can experience using the APP-  SOUNDwalker (feed your ears) - which you can download here free if you wish - do bring along your head phones/ear pieces if you can but we will have some spares if needed:

There is street parking nearby but it may be busy on a Saturday so do allow time to park and walk to the church.
