Overview

Looking for a new job, career change, or hiring locally? The UK Careers Fair returns to Reading on Wednesday 4 February.

Looking for a new job or career change?

The Reading Careers Fair provides the opportunity to meet employers and training providers from a wide range of industries, all in one place.

Open to anyone exploring job opportunities, career changes, or training options, the event welcomes candidates from all backgrounds, experience levels, and stages of their career.

Why attend?

Attending the Reading Careers Fair allows you to:

  • Speak directly with employers who are actively recruiting
  • Explore a variety of roles and industries in a single visit
  • Gain insight into organisations, roles, and hiring requirements
  • Save time compared to submitting multiple online applications

Face-to-face conversations often provide a clearer understanding of opportunities, company culture, and next steps.

What type of employers attend?

Each Careers Fair reflects the local job market at the time of the event.

While every event is different, exhibitors typically represent a broad mix of sectors and opportunities, which may include:

  • Entry-level through to management roles
  • Apprenticeships and graduate opportunities
  • Part-time and full-time positions
  • Franchise and self-employment options
  • Training and development providers

Not every industry is present at every event, but the aim is always to provide a varied and relevant mix of opportunities.

Employers attending are added regularly. To see who is currently promoting their attendance, visit our jobs page and search by event location.

Additional support

Alongside live vacancies, attendees may also find:

  • Career guidance and advice
  • CV support
  • Access to national job boards
  • Information on flexible and remote working opportunities

The event is designed to help you explore options and make meaningful connections, whatever stage you are at.

The venue

The Reading Careers Fair takes place at the Penta Hotel.

The venue is:

  • Approximately a 13-minute walk from Reading train station
  • Around a 10-minute walk from The Oracle shopping centre

Do I need a ticket?

Tickets are free and recommended, as they allow us to send you event updates and reminders.
However, tickets do not need to be shown on the day, and entry is not dependent on having one.

What should I bring?

Bringing copies of your CV is recommended, but not essential.

More important is arriving prepared to talk about:

  • what you’re looking for
  • your experience or interests
  • the types of roles or opportunities you want to explore

A positive, open-minded approach often leaves the strongest impression.
