Our Start and Spark sessions have been created for both those at the start of their Reading Schools journey who are interested in finding out more and those who’ve begun their journey who are looking for top tips and ideas to spark their imagination.
This is an interactive session and we will introduce a hot topic to spark discussion. In this session, we will be exploring how Reading Schools can best encourage pupil voice. Earlier this term we had a Shared Practice on this topic and we wanted to give opportunity to continue the conversation or engage with this theme if you couldn’t make it along to the Shared Practice.
You will get the chance to chat with our team as well as colleagues at various stages of their Reading Schools journey. Please bring your questions, ideas, challenges and solutions. Everyone is welcome but with a special invitation to those who are interested in good practice around encouraging pupil voice.
This session will be held on Microsoft Teams with joining details sent in advance. For the best experience, we recommend joining the session using the Microsoft Teams app rather than using the browser.
Reading Schools is a national accreditation programme for schools which are committed to building a reading culture with and for their learners and communities. Research indicates that reading for pleasure positively impacts on learners' attainment across the curriculum, supports wellbeing, critical thinking, creativity, empathy and resilience.
NB: We have two self-directed e-learning modules containing curated elements to help give programme participants the relevant knowledge to commence and achieve their Reading Schools accreditation. These can be found here.
