Ready Steady Code: The micro:bit

The Harris is a public museum, art gallery and library housed in a magnificent Grade I listed building in the heart of the city of Preston. The building is temporarily closed for refurbishment for theHarris Your Placeproject. During closure an exciting programme of events and actvities for all ages will take place in the Harris library's temporary home in the Guild Hall and venues around the city.Please check venue details when booking event tickets.

The Harris

Session type: Free, but booking is essential via Eventbrite or the Museum Shop on 01772 905414. Length of workshop:  2.5 hours (1.30-4pm).  Age: This workshop is aimed at participants aged 8 years and over. Parents/guardians must accompany children aged under 16 years old and should book a chaperone ticket. Attendees: No – all equipment (including handouts, Pi Tops, micro:bits and USB keyboards and mice will be provided). Lunch and refreshments are not provided & participants will need to make their own arrangements. Join @all_about_code for an introduction to coding the micro:bit. This workshop is aimed at ages 8 and over, but everyone is welcome to join in (including adults!)  Learn how to get creative with physical coding by trying out projects such as making a Harry Potter sorting hat and a multiplayer reaction game. So come and join us for a fun packed afternoon of digital making.
