Real Writers Circle: Intimacy
Join us in person to explore writing authentic and intimate stories in the Real Writers Circle!
Real Writers Circle: Intimacy
In our first event of the year, author and psychotherapist Emily Howse will be joining us as we explore intimacy in our writing - how we express physical, emotional, psychological and sexual closeness on the page - and maybe even with ourselves and our reader?
Emily will be sharing from her debut The Painters Daughters, which delves into a closely intertwined sister relationship, and give us a sneak peek from her soon-to-be-published second novel, Mrs Dickens.
Agenda:
Connect, Learn, Share
1. Connecting: We believe that writers who know each other learn more. In this part of the evening, we actively facilitate a conversation between attendees. (This bit can be loud – in a good way.)
2. Hot Seat: With a speaker or a panel, we explore a topic/theme and promote sharing of expertise and knowledge among the group.
3. Reading: Up to two members share their work aloud. Listening to each other’s writing and offering feedback (if requested) informs our craft.
Meeting monthly, Real Writers Circle is a dedicated collective of writers who give and receive support, insights and advice as we improve our writing craft – for publication or otherwise. Circle members are un/published authors across any genre or form. The group is open to anyone who is intensional about their writing and wants to learn how to hone their craft.
