This one-day training course is designed to provide line managers with the knowledge and skills required to conduct effective competence-based interview assessments at all levels within Natural England.

- Structure inclusive, capability-based assessments
- Design effective question sets
- Recognise and manage bias in recruitment
- Adjust the selection process to accommodate the needs of diverse candidates
- Maintain consistent notes and give structured, constructive feedback

- Delivery: Virtual via Microsoft Teams
- Participation: participants are strongly recommended to turn on their cameras and mute microphone to get the most from the day
- Pre-course reading: Sent with your invite – essential to complete
- Facilitation: PowerPoint-led sessions with group discussions
- Breakout rooms: Regular group work throughout the day

- Afternoon session: Involves role play activities- designed to put the learning into practice, this includes questioning and listening techniques
