Magic Circle magician David Owen KC will talk about an innovative and award-winning project for young people with hemiplegia which he helped set up at St Thomas’ Hospital. Breathe Arts Health Research brings together world class medical research, a team of Magic Circle magicians and highly specialist occupational therapists to deliver a programme in which young people with hemiplegia learn specially selected magic tricks that transforms them into young magicians and helps them to conquer the everyday tasks they find difficult.

David, a leading arbitrator, mediator and barrister was elected to the Magic Circle as a teenager and more recently awarded membership of the Inner Magic Circle (Gold Star). He has also taught magic to occupational therapists, clinicians, hospital play assistants, and many others.

Event organised by the Friends of Durning Library. The event is free but a £3 donation is asked for refreshments.
