Wednesday 28 June 2023The Inn's Social &amp; Wellbeing group have organised a 'Reducing Stress with Paperless Practice Solutions' panel event to discuss how you can make your practice more efficient and organised using current technology and software. Talk: 5.30 pmQ&A: 6.15 pmFinish: 6.30 pmVenue: OnlineOur panel members will be:<ul><li>D﻿arren Howe KC - Darren is a silk based at 1 Crown Office Row in Brighton, and also practising from Spire Barristers in Leeds and Senate House Chambers in Northampton. Darren is an elected member of the Family Law Bar Association and Chairs its Technology and Digitisation Committee. Alongside Matthew Maynard and others, Darren devised and delivered paperless working training to family law barristers prior to the Covid pandemic. During and since the pandemic, that training was provided across the Bar as a whole. Darren sits on a number of committees with senior members of HMCTS and the judiciary on matters relating to the digitisation of the courts and has written extensively on this topic, creating and delivering training packages to barristers, solicitors and the judiciary. Darren sits as a fee-paid judge in the Family Courts.</li></ul><ul><li>Matthew Maynard (St Ives Chambers) - Matthew is a junior practising in family law, based at St Ives Chambers in Birmingham. His practice is now focused exclusively on the law relating to children. He has worked without “paper” bundles for approximately eight years and used computers extensively in his day-to-day practice since he was called in 2003. He operates exclusively with Apple devices and has lectured extensively on the use of technology in modern legal practice. Together with Darren Howe KC, he ran national training for the Family Law Bar Association before and during the pandemic when they discussed paperless practice with over a thousand family law barristers. He is an elected member of the Family Law Bar Association’s National Executive Committee and often liaises with the judiciary on behalf of the Association on technology related issues.
