In this two day workshop led by Mat Pringle you will learn how to create a linocut print using the reduction print technique with registration tabs. The technique allows you to create a linocut from a single block of lino with multiple colours or shades that are accurately registered.
In this workshop you will learn:
- The equipment and tools required to create a reduction print
- How to plan your design with multiple layers/colours
- How to set up your lino plate, paper and registration tabs
- How to print using an etching press
- Some colour mixing and colour blends
- Drying times and techniques to reduce them
By the end of the workshop you will have a small edition of your print (A5 size) to take home and the knowledge to create reduction prints at home.
This workshop does require a basic understanding of the linocut process so is not recommended for beginners. Maximum class size is 6 people.
