A guided meditation and journaling workshop for everyone

This past year has been difficult on so many levels. If you feel like you are facing a lot, you’re not alone. The people who cope well with a difficult moment are usually the ones who are not blindly optimistic. According to Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust survivor and psychiatrist from Vienna, it’s those who are able to cultivate a sense of tragic optimism: the ability to maintain hope and find meaning in crisis. Join us for a guided meditation and journaling workshop to find hope and self-compassion during an unprecedented time - and cultivate a sense of tragic optimism. It’ll be gentle, accessible, and low-key. Come as you are. Take a moment to reflect and reset for the new year.Together you will learn and discover:<ul><li>How to find hope and self-compassion under new circumstances.</li><li>How to reflect on the year that has passed, and your hopes for the coming year.</li><li>How loving-kindness meditation can be used to ground yourself in moments of stress.</li><li>How to cultivate self-compassion under difficult circumstances.</li><li>How journaling can be a tool to enable visualisation.</li><li>The benefits of journaling and meditation:</li><li>Improves mood by helping you to reflect on and prioritize problems, fears and concerns.</li><li>Helps you to recognize triggers and better ways to control them</li><li>Helps to reduce stress, manage anxiety and cope with depression.</li></ul>How it works:<ul><li>Book a ticket through Eventbrite, and we will send you the Zoom workshop link 24 hours before</li><li>Use a laptop/computer for a seamless user experience.</li><li>While we could love for you to have your camera on - this is safe space for everyone - we understand if you do not want to. When you join us your camera will be off and your audio will be muted.</li><li>Please kindly keep your audio on mute throughout the workshop.</li><li>We share our thoughts and feelings using both the chat function and audio.</li><li>Please remove all distractions - emails, mobile phones, TV.</li></ul>What you will need:<ul><li>To be sitting in a quiet space, where you feel safe, without fear of interruptions.</li><li>A journal/ notepad and pen.</li><li>A good speaker / headphones for a more intimate experience.</li><li>Recommended: a candle / matches / lighter, and a cup of herbal tea / water.</li></ul>About us:<a href="https://www.mendu.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mendü</a> is a self-care app with empowering journaling prompts to rise for Womxn of Colour (WoC).
