Reflection workshop: developing the Open Government action plan

In April 2016 Scotland was selected by the Open Government Partnership (OGP) as one of 15 Pioneer governments around the world to join a programme to bring new leadership and innovation into the OGP at all levels of government. Our firstAction Plan, developed in partnership with civil society, launched in December 2016, and set out our commitments to improve the lives of people living in Scotland, to learn from others and to share our experience of Open Government throughout 2017.The Scottish Government and the Scottish Open Government Network are now working together to deliver oursecond National Action Planwhich will run from 2018-2020.

Learning and reflection: Focus Group
What: A relaxed discussion reflecting on people’s experience of being involved in open government in the process of developing the Action Plan throughout 2018. This learning will help Scottish Government and the Open Government Network improve for the future. 
Where: General Medical Council Boardroom, 5th Floor, The Tun, 4 Jackson's Entry, Edinburgh, EH8 8PJ
When: Wednesday 20th February 2019 
Time: 11:45am – 1:45pm, including lunch. The session will last for about 90 minutes.
Facilitator: Mick Doyle, Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC)  
Who’s it for: Anyone who has been involved, either a little or a lot, in open government in Scotland over the last year or so, and who would be willing to share a bit about what they thought and their experience of taking part. 
Purpose:  The Open Government Action Plan has now been completed. During the course of 2018, several challenges in reaching and engaging people in the process prompted reflection on how to improve how people are involved in future. Hearing from people who took part in this, and their experiences, is important so we can improve on this. It will inform a final learning report for the Scottish Government and aims to strengthen participation in open government in the future.
