The Reinvigorating Direct Payments event series is a partnership between Think Local Act Personal and the Department of Health and Social Care. This event is held in partnership with Disability North and ADASS North East
Explore how we can reinvigorate Direct Payments as this in-person day of shared reflection and collaborative problem-solving in the North East.
You will:
- Hear from Direct Payment recipients about the difference they make to their lives, their experiences of taking and managing the Direct Payments, and whether the promise of full choice and control is being realised
- Hear about the Government's commitment to see more people being able to benefit from a Direct Payments and what they are doing to support this
- Experience a highly interactive mix of presentations, activities and workshops to help you improve your practice and contribute to the reinvigoration of Direct Payments
- Learn what you can do with people across the North East to improve the experience of taking and managing a Direct Payment and to help increase take-up
This event is aimed at:
- Social care practitioners undertaking assessments and creating care and support plans
- People who use Direct Payments
- Social care staff involved in providing support to Direct Payment recipients
- Commissioners
- IT, finance and legal staff in local authorities who work with social care teams promoting Direct Payments
