Explore a groundbreaking model for relational practice in youth justice, developed through a three-year action research collaboration between Irish academics and frontline practitioners across 16 Youth Diversion Projects.

This free online seminar introduces a structured yet flexible framework for building effective relationships with crime-involved young people - relationships that are central to successful diversion outcomes. The model is grounded in creating a safe culture and trust, and highlights seven key practitioner approaches, including empathy, advocacy, flexibility, and inspiring hope.

Speakers will introduce you to the ‘relationship journey’ model as a reflective tool designed to support youth justice professionals in their relational practice. The session will explore how this model is being scaled nationally across Ireland’s Youth Diversion Projects, and will also consider its potential for broader application across other human service settings.
