The Walk Club, Edinburgh and other walking activities take place in North Edinburgh and elsewhere. Covering a wide variety of subjects and themes, the Walk Club is a brand-new Edinburgh walking / wheeling club offering ambulatory meet-ups that focus on local history, art, and urban nature ~ with a twist ~ Each walk will have a theme and celebrate events such as the Festival of Terminalia, the Urban Tree Festival, May Day, and the Autumn Equinox. The walks will be stimulating and the company friendly. Fresh air and gentle exercise are promised, whether you are on wheels or feet, and the Walk Club is open to everyone. Children and dogs are welcome. The aim is to be accessible, inclusive, and flexible.Moving slowly through the urban landscape allows for higher quality noticing and time to pay attention. Pauses are important so we can look, smell, and discover. We will embrace community, as well as silence and conversation.With experience in the arts and community settings, I offer walks (ecological, history and psychogeography, for example) in Edinburgh and elsewhere in Europe. They are participatory, safe and inclusive. I also run workshops in venues such as Edinburgh Central Library and for festivals such as the Festival of Terminalia.

Whether we are grieving for a close friend, pet or family member; concerned about the loss of bird, insect or plant habitats and other changes to our climate; affected by war; or managing on-going / one-off life events around relationship, work and/or home loss, coming together with others to focus, share, or simply ‘be’ with our feelings can be supportive.________________________________________Programme30 Sep Memory Walkshop (2-4pm). Please note that there are extra tickets available for the Death Cafe. If you cannot attend one of these events, please book the ones that you can attend, individually.There is no need to book to attend the Art Exhibition, please just come along between the times shown above.All events are free although donations (to cover costs) are welcome.Co-curators: Bea Denton (London) and Tamsin Grainger (Edinburgh)Bea Denton (London) is an artist and educator whose practice explores ideas around death and loss, faith and ritual. She has taught and managed courses at Arts University Bournemouth, UAL (Camberwell, London College of Communication and Central Saint Martins), at EBAC in Brazil and Artslink in China. She is a Trustee for Lewisham Education Arts Network (LEAN) and a member of the Artist’s Group, Throes of Grief.Tamsin Grainger (Granton) is a community artist (No Birds Land, Trinity Tunnel; The Wall, Western Breakwater), complementary therapy practitioner, session leader, and author of Death and Loss in Shiatsu Practice (published by Singing Dragon Press).
