Event description

Description

Dave Hall and co-presenter Peter Whitehead will give a special presentation on the history of Reading's trolleybuses using films and photos. Dave is the British Trolleybus Society's Archivist and is an authority on the history of Reading's trolleybus system. The event will be held in the Victoria Room, Reading Town Hall. Doors open at 19.00 for a 19.30 start. Admission is free but tea and coffee will be available for a small charge.

Dave is also the curator of the "On the Trolleybuses" exhibition at Reading Museum (14 August to 3 November) and organiser of Reading Trolleydays at the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft (25, 26 and 27 August) when it is expected that all five preserved Reading Corporation trolleybuses will be running.

There will also be a free Family Fun Day outside Reading Town Hall on Saturday 3 November when Reading trolleybus no. 144 will be on public display. Our thanks to the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft for the loan of no. 144. Dave Hall's new history of the Reading trolleybus system will be launched at this event.
