Remote interpreting has shifted from being an emergency response during the pandemic to an established part of everyday professional practice. By 2026, many interpreters carry out significantly more remote assignments than onsite ones. As the profession continues to evolve, it is essential to reflect critically on what we have learned and to consider how best to uphold high standards and ensure quality in the years ahead.This focused session brings together committee members with extensive experience of remote interpreting across a range of professional settings. Drawing on both practical expertise and professional insight, the speakers will explore the following key themes shaping remote interpreting practice:<ul><li>Guidelines for Remote Interpreting</li><li>Technical Specifications and Platform Overview</li><li>Terms, Conditions and Rates</li><li>Ethical Considerations in Remote Interpreting</li></ul>The session will start with a 25-minute presentation, followed by 40 minutes of discussion and questions. Please note that these sessions are not recorded. We therefore encourage you to attend live. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration to allow others to participate.
