About this event

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY GAUGING INTEREST BEFORE WE LAUNCH THE PAID TICKETS. PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME DOWN (FOR FREE) IF YOU PLAN TO COME ON THE 2025 TRIP. This is so we can be sure we will fill the coach before we book it.

The truth may never be known about the incidents that took place in Rendlesham Forest in December 1980. They have since begun to drift into the mists of folklore, and the mythological fog of war, and have been described as 'Britain's Roswell'.

But something truly unusual did happen. A large number of United States Air Force personnel from the nearby twin bases at RAF Woodbridge and RAF Bentwaters witnessed phenomena that none of them have ever been able to explain. The official memo spoke of ‘unexplained lights’ – UFOs being too emotive a term – but, as later emerged, there was much more to it than that.

Master storytellers Minimum Labyrinth have created an experience that takes you on a trip from London to the silent beauty of the Suffolk woods, from the present day to the height of the Cold War, from the everyday to the uncanny. Whether you want to believe, or you are resolutely sceptical, within the remarkable events we find a story of our own fears and compulsions.

Your guided walk around Rendlesham Forest is led by Robert Kingham, presenter of Pagan London.

A note on sources

  • The audio narrative and guided tour draw information from previously published accounts of the events surrounding the Rendlesham Forest incident.
  • Minimum Labyrinth aim to present a balanced view of the available evidence to an interested but non-specialist audience, enriched by a political and cultural perspective of the time.
  • We must stress to specialist ufologists that no previously unseen testimonies or evidence will be presented.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a toilet on the coach?

Yes. Thank heavens.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

We suggest that this event is not suitable for under-14s.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The pick-up point will be close to Stratford Station. As well as the public transport interchange, there are several car parks available.

Can you pick me up from intermediate locations?

Sorry, but in order to keep to schedule, we can't stop along the way.

Can I join just for the walk and make my own way there?

We are not offering this option, as an integral part of the event will be the story told on the journey there.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No - your name will be on the list.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, but there will be a cut-off point for lunch choices so they may have to eat what you ordered!

I'm allergic to something on the menu.

Let us know when booking lunch and we will let the pub know.

Is the walk wheelchair-friendly?

Unfortunately not. We do try to plan accessibility into our walks but this is possibly the most wheelchair-unfriendly one. Some of the paths are narrow and rutted and go through dense bits of forest.
