Following <a href="https://footstepsbcf.org.uk/2019/06/12/birmingham-declares-a-climate-emergency/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Birmingham City Council's commitment</a> to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2030, this seminar will bring together sustainability leads, climate action campaigners, green entrepreneurs, academics, councillors, faith groups and interested Birmingham residents to map out the future of renewable power in Birmingham.We will hear from<ul><li>David Horsfall, Director, <a href="https://www.tyseleyenergy.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Tyseley Energy Park Ltd</a>, on how Tyseley Energy Park is leading the way in developing renewable power in Birmingham with initiatives including biomass electricity generation, hydrogen vehicle refuelling and electric taxi fast re-charging.</li><li>Dr Emily Prestwood, <a href="https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/energy/index.aspx" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Birmingham Energy Institute</a> at the University of Birmingham, on its involvement and future plans for the energy park.</li><li>Professor Javed Hussain, BCU and Dr Chris Martin, Footsteps - Climate Emergency and green innovation.</li><li>Innovators and early adopters – examples from Birmingham’s own sustainability pioneering households.</li></ul>Plus opportunity for networking and collaboration around common areas of interest and potential future projects.
