For all University of Portsmouth Research and Academic Staff
The session will be presented in two sections:
1. Research Councils UK, other external funders and the University of Portsmouth all have policies on research data, access and storage. To help researchers get to grips with data management, Gary Pike (Research Data Officer) will explain how these policies relate to researchers and the options available within the University for the management and storage of research data and what needs to be included in the data management plans for grant applications.
2. Sam Hill (Information Disclosure and Complaints Officer) and Roger Moore (Psychology) will then discuss the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its impact on research.The GDPR will apply in the UK from 25th May 2018. It will replace the current Data Protection Act (DPA) and will be a significant change to the law on data protection.
