PEAT Outcome - Relevant legal knowledge

OBJECTIVES

Scottish property law is the foundation for the buying and selling of houses and flats. For the client who just wants their keys and/or their money, the intricacies of a conveyancing transaction are mysterious – and frankly irrelevant as long as they get what they expect. For us as solicitors, paralegals and support staff, the transactional work is anything but irrelevant or simple.

This Lecture strips domestic conveyancing down to its essentials, and walks the audience through the stages that are required from first call from the client to registering title/settling out with the client. We will talk about the legal and procedural technicalities and documents, but also the risks and their management, the IT that is available, and the old-fashioned people skills needed in guiding the client through the process.

DELEGATES

Whether you’re a solicitor, paralegal, trainee, or conveyancing support professional, this Zoom webinar will sharpen your skills and help you deliver smoother, more confident property transactions.

LSA's seminars, conferences and workshops are among the most innovative, best value and, above all, useful available.  They cover most areas of law in practice.  They are relevant to everybody concerned with law and legal rights.  This includes practitioners, whether qualified or not, solicitors or advocates, paid or unpaid and anyone in the private, community, charitable or statutory sectors.  The events are also of interest to policy makers, managers, campaigners and students.  The events reflect LSA's values of inclusiveness and respect for fundamental rights.  They come out of our extensive casework tackling unmet legal needs in all relevant courts and tribunals.  LSA has a record of attracting the best speakers and delegates who are at the cutting edge of the law.  The result is often sparky and thought provoking discussion.
