Resilience is having the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties and toughness. Claire has learned a lot about resilience during her career - from being self-employed and running her own business to the work she does with PR and marketing. She talks about losing pitches for new clients, dealing with difficult clients/partners, getting constant 'nos' from journalists when you're trying to secure stories for clients and more.
Having the right mindset helps to build resilience - Claire never sees anything as a failure and always strive to see things as a learning opportunity.
This talk will help YOU create your own opportunities to help as well - you're not solely reliant on other people to pay you, give you work and help you succeed in your work - you are responsible for it yourself. There is no doubt you will leave this event inspired with the tools you need to be successful in your future. 
Claire Gamble is the managing director of Unhooked Communications, which specialises in helping B2B and consumer brands grow and develop their businesses through targeted, tailored and creative PR and marketing campaigns.
A trained broadcast journalist, Claire started her career as an online journalist and SEO copywriter before moving into PR and communications. Claire is also the founder of the Northern Creative Collective, a support and networking group for marketers and creatives in the north.

These events are a way to connect with other people, learn and share in a supportive and friendly environment.
Our goal is to create a community of people that can collaborate, support and be inspired. To provide help, advice or maybe motivation and direction on your latest project. 
These meetups are an opportunity for you to meet other people in a nonjudgmental, honest and open environment. Whether you are working on a side hustle or want to move your business to full time this is a place to meet like-minded people. Or maybe you are just looking for new ways to be inspired or to meet a new group of friends. 
This event is for everyone but can be especially helpful for people running their own creative business or projects.
This is for people that are writers, doers, and makers or just those that want to be motivated and inspired to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. If you are unsure if this event is for you - just get in touch and we can have a chat :) 
TIMINGS:
6-7pm: Welcome Drinks. You will be greeted at the door, given a name badge and a welcome drink. We will help make that first introduction to someone so you don't have to stand alone. There will also be a chance for you to promote your creative business or project, advertise your services or look for support on our Bulletin Board. 
7.00pm: Quick Introduction to betternotstop and the aims of the group.
7.10-8.00pm Monthly Talk theme: Resilience 
Claire will lead a talk on Resilience. She will be passing on tips that are Relevant to ANYONE, and teach you to create opportunities for yourself. 
You will also be able to ask questions related directly to your project, life or business and also are encouraged to provide help and ideas to each other through the discussion. 
8-9pm: Networking. Meet and network with other people and make some new friends. 
9pm: Grab your goody bag and head home full of inspiration and motivation!
NOTES: If you have some flyers or business cards you can pass them to the team to add to the goody bags at the end of the night. 
COSTS: The cost of our events cover the costs of Speakers, Venue Hire, Goody Bags and Promotion of the event. If you are unable to pay the full ticket price, a number of tickets are available at a donation only cost. Just buy a subsidised ticket and donate what you can.
