Viv Gordon Company's work is a campaign to increase visibility, voice and community with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA).CSA remains a taboo subject and is rarely talked about outside therapeutic support settings and, because of this, survivors lack cultural and political representation resulting in CSA survivors being the largest marginalised group most people have never heard of.There’s an estimated 11 million of us.Our work seeks to remove barriers to participation for CSA survivors and drive narrative change - moving away from ideas of victimhood, guilt, shame, isolation and cultural silencing - towards celebrating survival, joining together and laying claim to cultural space to make noise about our experiences, rights and concerns.Viv Gordon Companyis working to bring survivor stories out of the darkness and into the light, to raise awareness and to celebrate strength and resilience.

Come as you are, and bring anyone with you who needs an outlet to shout at the sky. <a href="https://www.vivgordoncompany.co.uk/restless.html" title="https://www.vivgordoncompany.co.uk/restless.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Restless </a>might be the most necessary hour in your week.Restless brings together the loose ends of a rage that we feel but don't quite know what to do with and weaves it into a collective chord of LET'S DO SOMETHING.Kind of like a guided meditation, except if it had been made by The Sex Pistols and shouted through loudhailers.The music pulls no punches; it's raw and visceral and urgent, but crafted too – both in the lyrics (simultaneously catchy and rich) and the skill of the performers including the co-composers <a href="https://www.quintamakes.com/" title="https://www.quintamakes.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Quinta</a> (Collectress, Bat For Lashes) and the inimitable <a href="https://www.thomasjohnsoncomposer.com/" title="https://www.thomasjohnsoncomposer.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Thomas Johnson</a>.All the staples of classic 70s punk are here – thumping drums, driving riffs, sweary vocals smashed through fuzzing amps – along with some folkier finesse from fiddles and intricate solos.But the real power comes from where the music takes the room. The set list leads the audience through a building narrative from abuse, to anger and, ultimately, action – all informed by the direct experiences of frontwoman and lyricist <a href="https://www.vivgordoncompany.co.uk/restless.html" title="https://www.vivgordoncompany.co.uk/restless.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Viv Gordon.</a>'I didn't know how much I needed that.
