About this event

Restorative Stroll & Chat with Creative Expression & a Cuppa

Come join us for a relaxing time at Walton Court Jigsaw Homes! Take a leisurely stroll on this easy access local walk.

A slow, peaceful creative walk - for anyone craving a pause.

This isn’t a power walk or a hike. It’s not about getting your steps in or ticking things off a list.

It’s a gentle, unhurried invitation to slow down, breathe, and reawaken your senses.

To feel more present in your body, in nature and maybe in your creativity too.

We will aim to alternate 1 week in Carlton Cemetary and 1 week urban walk.

Along the way, you’ll be invited to notice small details, gather natural textures, and take part in a shared stitchwork project.

No sewing experience needed just an openness to explore. We’ll be creating something together, slowly and thoughtfully, one stitch at a time.

This walk is for all adults… whether you’re feeling burnt out, creatively blocked, or just want to try something different.

Come as you are. Leave feeling a little more grounded and more connected to yourself, your creativity, and your community.

****Thanks to generous funding, this walk is FREE to attend****

We want to acknowledge its true value though: if this were a paid event, it would usually cost £40 per person.

Your place is fully covered - no catch, no expectations just space to rest, reflect, and reconnect.

Enjoy a creative sewing activity, and have a chat with like- minded local folk. It's a great way to unwind and connect with others in a beautiful setting. Don't miss out on this opportunity to relax, recharge, and have some fun!

The event is free including drinks and snacks.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this event for?

All adults including those who are less active, don't let a long term health condition stop you! No need to be good at art, creative time is for complete beginners.

How do I get there?

The lilac line buses 24,25.26 and 27 Carlton Square stop. There is free parking in the cemetery for Blue Badges and on the road outside. The Gedling Borough Council car park at Carlton Square gives you 2 hours free and it is £1 for an extra hour after that.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately no. Some people are afraid of dogs and we want this event to be open to everyone. It would not be suitable for dogs to attend the creative session.

I am not very fit, or have a long term health condition. Is this event suitable for me?

We have designed the easy access walk to enable participants to have breaks and be able to sit down on the benches in the cemetery if needed. We will make it possible to walk at the slowest participants' pace.

What should I bring?

A reusable water bottle, suitable clothing for the weather; e.g. sun hat, layers (hoody, cardigan etc) woolly hat, waterproof coat and sturdy, non slip waterproof walking shoes or trainers.

Can I bring my baby, dog, or small child along?

Sorry this event is unsuitable for dogs, babies and children.

Do I need to book?

The event is free. Places are limited for health and safety and catering purposes, so yes you do! Can you also let us should you be unable to attend if you have booked, so that others may be able to use your place.

Is there a trip on week 6?

Yes, there will be a trip to a local destination e.g. Attenborough Nature Reserve or Gedling Country Park. To enable you to participate in the trip, we ask that you have attended at least 4 of the sessions. This is to build the community in the group and not have people attending the trip only.
