Retrofit Reinvented: The VundaHouse study trip experience

AMRC Factory 2050Sheffield, England
Monday, Feb 23, 2026 from 10 am to 2:30 pm GMT
Overview

Join us for a hands-on, behind-the-scenes study trip to VundaHaus – an innovative construction system transforming.

We’re heading out on a hands-on, behind-the-scenes study trip to explore VundaHaus an innovative construction system designed to transform how retrofit and new-build homes can be delivered at speed, with precision, and with dramatically improved thermal performance. This visit gives DIN members a chance to see the technology in action before it scales.

VundaHaus is all about rethinking the fabric-first approach to low-carbon, high-performance housing. Their system is engineered for rapid installation, airtightness, repeatability, and cost-efficiency, all of which sit right at the heart of many property, asset, and retrofit challenges our members are tackling. Whether you’re grappling with damp and mould, decarbonisation, disrepair risk, or long-term asset resilience, what Vundahaus is pioneering has real crossover potential for the sector.

This study visit will give you a rare opportunity to watch a live install, explore the components up close, and get under the skin of a product that could play a key role in the next generation of social housing delivery.

What you will learn from attending this study visit

  • What makes the VundaHaus system different and why it could accelerate retrofit and new-build delivery
  • How the installation process works in real time, including materials, sequencing and labour requirements
  • The potential for improving thermal performance, energy efficiency, and damp/mould resilience
  • Practical insights on cost, scalability, supply chain readiness, and early sector pilots
  • How this innovation could support asset strategies, decarbonisation plans, and fabric-first approaches in social housing
  • Opportunities for collaboration with Vundahaus as they move into pilot and certification stages

Programme

  • Arrival and refreshments 10:00 – 10:30
  • Introduction presentation on Vundahaus and & product 10:45 – 11:15
