<h2>Approximate course length: </h2><h3>2 hours</h3>

<h2>This course is for: </h2><h3>This is an information session for anyone interested in achieving RHS Horticulture qualifications to help them progress in their existing/ new career.</h3>

<h2>The course will cover:</h2><h3>You will learn about the ideal qualifications for entry into horticultural employment, improving practical skills or further study.
</h3><h3>The course will cover:
</h3><h3>•	An outline of the different qualifications, theory and practical, and how they combine to create the Level 2 Diploma
</h3><h3>•	the kind of job opportunities the qualifications could lead to
</h3><h3>•	the structure of the qualifications: unit content, assessments, exams, homework and work and time commitment
</h3><h3>•	Minimum entry requirements, delivery style and days and times, including holidays and term dates, and fees
</h3><h3>This is a classroom based session which will provide an opportunity to increase your knowledge about the courses in order to help you make a decision about enrolment.
</h3><h3>A short assessment, including free writing, will form part of the session as evidence of literacy skills and this assists staff in the selection process should the course be over-subscribed. Candidates will need to be working at Level 2 literacy or above in order to enrol on one of the courses.
</h3><h3>Your tutor will be able to answer question, including sign-posting to literacy classes should that be required/ requested.
</h3>

<h2>Work outside of sessions: </h2><h3>This is not required, though we hope you will want to enrol on one of our courses or complete an intensive Functional Skills English class.</h3>

<h2>Additional costs and what to prepare: </h2><h3>This course is offered free of charge and there are no other costs.

</h3><h3>You will need a pen and paper, laptop or tablet so that you can make your own notes. Handouts may be provided.
</h3>

<h2>How to access your course: </h2><h3>An email with joining details will be sent within 3 working days of the start date of the course.</h3>

<h2>Progression from this course: </h2><h3>You may wish to progress to RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture ; RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Garden Planning, Establishment and Maintenance or Functional Skills English or any of the community learning gardening/ outdoor/ creative  courses taking place next academic year.
