Following the short film compilation screening This Land is Our Land at Showroom Cinema, join us for a gentle walk and talk led by ramblers Terry Howard (protagonist of the short film Ramble On) and Maxwell Ayamba, founder of 100 Black Men Walk for Health and Sheffield Environmental Movement.

As we walk and discover the green land close to Sheffield's city centre, we will learn more about access to the countryside, the right to roam, and the UK’s radical history of trespass.

Film Screening

We would highly recommend coming to the short film screening before the walk, which will feature three films about different land rights struggles - from Brazil, Spain and Yorkshire, and start at 10:15 in Showroom Cinema.

Tickets for the screening are available via the Sheffield DocFest website here (Adults: £9.50, Concessions: £7.50). We have some free places for this screening as part of the Community Programme, please email us at community@sheffdocfest.com if you would like one of these tickets.

Walk

For the walk, we will meet outside the main entrance of Showroom Cinema. Please wear suitable footwear and bring a jacket or waterproof if necessary. The walk will last approximately 90 minutes, including some steep steps, and with several stops where Terry and Maxwell will share stories and histories.

Please bring your own bottle of water. Refreshments will be provided.
