Riso Club - Using Riso with Photography
Bring your photography along and turn it into a Riso Print!
In this workshop we’ll utilise the riso printer scanner to scan your pre-printed photos and turn your photography into riso prints. You can also bring in other materials that we can then scan and print on top of your photos, experimenting with layering and composition. You’ll end up with a unique one or two colour print of your work.
- You’ll need to bring in your photos pre-printed so that we can scan them into the riso printer. Other materials you might want to bring in to scan could be collage materials, other photographs you’ve taken, small scannable objects (so long as they don’t damage the printer), printed text, etc. If you don’t have access to a printer you can email up to 3 images to us, we'll share an email address on checkout.
- The riso printer prints layers in mono-colour so consider bringing photography that works well in black and white, lots of variations in tone and areas of high contrast work great! Feel free to bring multiple options and we can advise you on what might look best.
This workshop will be run by Jack Taylor (@jackkaprestudio) who is a freelance graphic designer and artist based in Lancaster and works for the Community Riso Press in Morecambe.
This session is funded by Historic England’s Know Your Neighbourhood programme.
