Carousel Printmaking Studio is an accessible community space providing opportunities for artists and the wider community to access quality printmaking equipment facilities and education. Though volunteer led we also offer work opportunities to local artists and educators through our programme of regular practical workshops.

Explore the exciting process of risograph printmaking on this one day workshop…These machines have languished in corners of dull offices since the grey days of Thatcher's reign. Well no more! Join us in helping them to reach their full potential. Together we will create monochrome artworks that elevate the humble office printer to new levels.D﻿esigned for creating rapid multiple copies these printing machines have been co-opted by protest movements to create posters and flyers. Loved by artists and graphic designers risograph prints have a unique visual quality.Imagery can be built up with text, drawings and black and white photography. All materials and equipment will be provided.

<h1>About the Tutors</h1>Emily Appleton and Laura Brannagan are both Graphic Designers based in Sheffield. They are Fine art and Graphic Design graduates respectively and both love all things riso. They have explored the possibilities of riso in their own practices; creating zines, prints and stationery.

<h1>What will I need to bring?</h1>All materials and equipment will be provided. Though feel free to bring along some reference material such as a newspaper or magazine cutting or photographs. Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy. Aprons are provided.You may want to bring a packed lunch. Teas, coffee, water and biscuits are provided.

<h1>About Carousel Print Studio</h1>Carousel Print Studio is a not for profit charity based on the ground floor of Exchange Place Studios in Castlegate. Carousel runs educational workshops in printmaking and opportunities for creatives in Sheffield, in a bright, warm, accessible and well equipped printmaking studio. Carousel's studio is located on the ground floor just to the left of reception. The doors are widened for ease of access and there is an accessible toilet.
