This documentary aims at being an intimate and polyphonic portrait of Mexican actress and singer Rita Guerrero (1964-2011). Rita was the singer of both rock band Santa Sabina—a genuine cult band—and the Early Music Ensemble Galileo. She was also an actress, an activist, and conducted the Claustro de Sor Juana University’s choir of music from the viceroyalty (now Coro Virreinal Rita Guerrero).
Directed by Arturo Díaz Santana and produced by Solange Alonso Caballero, this film is a narrative told from the point of view of Santa Sabina’s various members, relatives and friends of Rita’s, as well as that of some other people who worked with her in music and the theatre. It is also an aesthetic and political portrait of an era of culture in Mexico, through the biography of this extraordinary artist.
