Rituals and Robots

Rituals and Robots

SPACE4London, England
Saturday, Jan 17, 2026 from 10 am to 2 pm GMT
Overview

A one day workshop exploring if we need rituals or robots to help us thrive in the future, including a seasonal homemade lunch.

The artist/researcher Rachel Jacobs invites you to join her around the table at Space 4, to think together about what we need to thrive in the future - in response to the twin concerns of climate/environmental change and the impacts of digital technology on our everyday lives.

The Rituals and Robots workshops have been designed as a unique artist-led activity that combines sharing a meal together with exploring technology, science, art and storytelling to think about the past, present and future.

In this workshop we will think about how we dwell with rituals and robots, technology and environment. We wil share a seasonal lunch, alongside playful and friendly creative activities that will help us think imaginatively together about whether we need rituals and/or robots in the future. No previous creative or technical experience is necessary.

The creative making will involve playing with clay, textiles and other craft materials, alongside scientific data, sustainable technologies and small robotics. For more information about the Rituals and Robots project visit:

More information and a schedule for the day will be added in January.
