River Dipping 

The Blackdown Hills National Landscape partnership works to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the this protected landscape. We provide information about the local history and natural environment, involve people and organisations in looking after the landscape, and encourage people to visit and enjoy the area.The Blackdown Hills National Landscape (the new name for the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) is a tranquil and relatively isolated landscape, on the border of Devon and Somerset. The area is rich in wildlife and heritage. For many, it epitomises the English countryside, with hedgerows and copses, small farms with intricate field patterns, deep valleys and narrow, winding lanes.

Blackdown Hills National Landscape

Join the Culm Community Crayfish Project team to discover the hidden underwater world of the River Culm.  River dipping nets, trays and ID charts provided and experts on hand to help identify different freshwater invertebrates. Suitable for all ages - under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
Wear wellies or old trainers that you don’t mind getting wet.  Roadside parking in village. Please note: pub car park is for patrons only.
