What do I need to bring with me?

All runners must check in on the day, when run numbers will be issued. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email as proof of ID. As well as your own water bottle; appropriate clothing and any fancy dress you wish!

What time do I need to arrive?

Each distance has a different check in and start time, so please refer to the timings listed on this page for check your specific run.  Check in for each run will close 15 mins before the start time to enable the safety briefing and warm to take place.

Question 3

What is the terrain of the run?

Both the 5K and the 2K are run on a mixture of the athletics track and grass. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Marshals will be located along the course.

Question 4

What route does the run follow?

The 2K track double loops the race track and the neighbouring field on a level route, indicated in the map. The 5K track is similar with an added 3K loop taking in the surrounding nature around the pump track and the football field.

Are runs open to all ages?

Purchasing tickets  available to over 18's only. 5k participants must be at least 11 years old and 11-14 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.  Parental consent is required.2k any age can run but under 15 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

Question 6

What should I wear to participate?

Accepted Answer

We recommend wearing layers and breathable fabrics for running, and suitable running footwear. Bring along a change of warm, dry clothes for afterwards if the weather is forecast to be bad.

Question 7

Can I run with my dog?

Accepted Answer

Yes - well behaved, non-reactive dogs on a fixed lead can accompany an owner. However, participants have to adhere to these safety measures: Start at the back to avoid collisions with others; throughout the run, consider other runners in your path /nearby and all dog mess to be cleared immediately.

Travel Guidance - Private transport

Accepted Answer

On foot: The track is accessed on foot from the main vehicle entrance off Eastcliff Road, from Moorland Road and Par Station.
By Road: The car park is accessed from Eastcliffe Road via the health centre in Par. Par Track is a short walking distance from Par train station.

Question 9

Travel guidance - Public transport

Accepted Answer

Bus: First Kernow buses 24 and 25 stop on Eastcliffe Road at the main entrance to Par Track.
Train: The nearest station is Par which is less than a 5 minute walk from the event start.
Bike: Cycle route 2 on the National Cycle Network (Clay Trails to Eden Project) goes directly through Par Track.

Are spectators welcome?

Spectators are very welcome, please ensure that they adhere to the guidance from marshals around the run routes.  Spectators accompanied by their dogs are most welcome, as long as they remain on their a lead and all waste is disposed of properly.

Do I receive anything for finishing?

Participants will receive medals at the end of the race!

Are refreshments available at the event?

Water refill stations will be available for participants for their own bottles. The Par Track Pavilion café is open on Saturdays from 10:00-13:45 serving a variety of hot foods, sandwiches, cakes including vegetarian or vegan options.  The Wooden Play Park is beside the cafe, perfect for families.

Are the runs accessible?

Individuals with accessibility needs may participate wherever it is safe for them to do so. The event team can provide participants with course information in order that the participant (or parent/guardian) can make an informed decision about their safe participation.

What facilities will be available?

Toilets are available for participants and spectators in the main pavilion. The Par Track Pavilion café is open on Saturdays from 10:00-13:45 serving a variety of hot foods, sandwiches, cakes including vegetarian or vegan options.  The Wooden Play Park is beside the cafe, perfect for families!

Is parking available at the event?

Parking for up to 70 cars is available on site, however please note that it can get very busy. We therefore recommend considering travelling by public transport.

Question 16

Is the run suitable for a buggy or stroller?

Accepted Answer

Due to the dual terrain type on both the track and grass the full routes are not suited to strollers, however if runners with strollers wish to participate only on the athletics track section running repeated laps, that is permitted.

Question 17

Can I sign up to participate on the day of the event?

Accepted Answer

Yes, although online registration closes the day before the event, participants can still sign-up to enter on the day of the event at the registration area.
