🎵 Musical Comedy Masterclass with Robert White

Sunday [22/02/26] | 11:00 – 17:00 Drayton Court Hotel, West Ealing Includes lunch, tea & coffee £90 + booking fee | Limited to 12 participants

Join Britain’s Got Talent finalist and award-winning musical comedian Robert White for a one-day, practical masterclass exploring how to make music funny — properly funny. This workshop is primarily designed for musical comedians who already play or are experimenting with songs in their act and want to sharpen them, heighten the comedy, and understand why musical jokes work.

🎭 What You’ll Work On

This is a hands-on, editorial-style masterclass focused on your material, not abstract theory.

Across the day, Robert will cover:

• The different ways jokes work inside songs

• Surprise, structure, rhythm and musical misdirection

• The full spectrum of musical comedy, from simple parody to unusual formats

• How to heighten existing songs rather than starting from scratch

• Practical techniques you can reuse again and again

You’ll spend focused time developing either:

A song you already perform, or

A half-written idea you want to push further

With individual feedback from Robert throughout the day, plus group discussion and shared learning.

You’ll work individually around the room, with Robert rotating to give feedback.

🎶 Performance & Feedback

In the final session, participants will:

• Perform their revised or developed song

• Receive constructive feedback from Robert and the group

• Discuss next steps and future development for the work

🧠 Who It’s For

This masterclass is ideal for:

• Musical comedians with an existing song or work-in-progress

• Comics experimenting with music who want clearer structure and stronger laughs

• Performers looking to understand how comedy and music interact on stage

Participants need to bring:

• An instrument

• Headphones

• A song they already perform or are actively working on

(You’ll work individually around the room using headphones, with Robert rotating to give feedback.)
