About this event

Health • Personal health

Join us for a nourishing 2-hour somatic sauna experience, taking place on the Hunter's Moon - a time when our ancestors gathered what they needed to thrive through winter.

Just weeks after the autumn equinox, we'll honour this ancient rhythm of seasonal preparation, not just for our homes, but for our nervous systems and communities.

This unique collaboration between somatic bodywork and traditional Aufguss creates a journey of both heating and cooling, expansion and grounding, individual reflection and community connection.

Like the clear moonlit nights that once helped hunters see their path, this experience will help you identify and embody your own sources of inner warmth and resource.

Through the marriage of ancient sauna wisdom and modern nervous system understanding, you'll discover that true preparation for winter isn't about enduring darkness, but about gathering the inner resources that will sustain and nourish you through the months ahead.

What to expect

Guided Aufguss ceremonies, gentle somatic practices, quiet, contemplative sauna time, meaningful community connection, and time to connect with the seasonal wisdom of this powerful moon.

You'll leave with

A regulated nervous system, clarity about your inner resources, and the embodied knowledge that you carry everything you need to thrive through winter within you.

Charity Fundraising Event

In collaboration with Luna Hut, who have kindly donated the sauna space, this will be a charity fundraising event and 100% of the proceeds will go to FareShare Sussex & Surrey, who supports around 28,520 people per week at risk of food poverty in Surrey and Sussex. They deliver food for approximately 6.26 million meals annually, harnessing the power of food to change lives.

Frequently asked questions

What is Aufguss?

A traditional sauna practice where essential oils are poured onto hot stones and the steam is distributed with towels, creating an intense but brief heat experience.

What are somatics?

Gentle, mindful practices that help you connect with and regulate your nervous system. No previous experience needed. Think breath awareness, connecting with body sensations, noticing in the present moment.

What shall I bring?

Bring a towel for sitting on in the sauna and swim wear to wear in the sauna. Bring warm clothes for your journey home. Water and herbal tea provided.

Will I be in the sauna for the full 2 hours?

The journey will involve times you can step out of the sauna for a cold dip in the tub (or the sea if calm). There will also be times when we cool the sauna down. While the experience is designed as a complete journey, you can step out any time for your comfort and safety.

Is this a silent experience?

There will be both guided moments and periods of reflection and contemplation. We'll create a respectful atmosphere throughout.

Can I sauna if I'm pregnant?

No, sorry, you can't, as the extreme heat is not advised in pregnancy.

Will the event go ahead if it's raining?

Yes, it will still go ahead. We will adapt with whatever the weather throws at us on the evening! We can cool the sauna down when needed, for a break from the heat.
