A walk around St Werburghs and St Paul's remembering social justice activist, Roy Hackett.
The Roy Hackett Legacy Trail
'You got to be in it to change it'
Join us for a walk through St Werburghs and St Paul’s to remember Roy Hackett. Roy was passionate about social justice and was renowned for his involvement in the Bristol Bus Boycott campaign. Roy loved to walk around his neighbourhood, stopping and talking to friends and strangers alike along the way.
The walk will include stops at places connected to Roy as well as other points of history in the area. It will be led by Ruth Pitter and Richard Dixon, activists in Roy's footsteps, who will share stories of Roy's life and the area. Those attending are welcome to share their own stories too.
The walk is 2 hours (10.30-12.30) and will be a loop starting and ending at the Roy Hackett Room at St Werburghs Community Centre where we will be providing tea and cake. We invite you to stay on and join us.
